DEIF SCM-2 (full name: Single Controller Management) is an advanced serial communication interface module manufactured by Danish company DEIF. It is primarily used within their power automation control product line, such as the AGC or GPU series controllers.
It serves as a vital bridge connecting controllers to external host computers, DCS systems, or other monitoring networks.
The SCM-2 is a dedicated communication converter designed to provide DEIF standalone controllers with connectivity to multiple physical interfaces. It converts the controller’s internal proprietary bus protocol into standard industrial communication protocols like Modbus RTU.
Its compact design typically mounts on a DIN rail inside the control cabinet, connecting via cable to the expansion port on the rear of the main controller.
